How can I access chat history between customers and the AI Assistant?

The Chat History dashboard gives store admins complete visibility into real-time and historical store interactions. By reviewing these logs, you can audit how successfully the AI handles customer queries, check context loops, and read full message transcripts.

How to Access and Read Your Logs

  1. Open the CartEasy AI Store Assistant app in your Shopify admin panel.
  2. In the left-hand navigation sidebar under the app menu, click on Chat History.
  3. You will see a split layout screen:
    • Left Panel (Conversations List): A scrollable feed of customer sessions showing the opening user query, date, time stamp, a unique conversation ID, and an automated AI sentiment label.
    • Right Panel (Conversation Details): Clicking on any session item immediately populates the full chat transcript. Each message is clearly timestamped and labeled (Customer vs. CartEasy) so you can trace user paths exactly. You can also view total session volumes via the total message counter pill (e.g., 70 messages) at the top right of the transcript card.

Filtering Chats by Sentiment

To help you quickly locate unhappy shoppers or analyze successful sales interactions, the dashboard supports automated sentiment categorization.

Click the All filter dropdown menu above the conversations list to segment chat files into four distinct view states:

Filter OptionDescription
All ConversationsDefault feed containing every chat session recorded.
Positive ConversationsPulls chats where users expressed satisfaction, compliments, or successful outcomes.
Neutral ConversationsDisplays standard informational chats (e.g., checking cart items or checking simple FAQ details without strong emotion).
Negative ConversationsHighlights chats where customers faced authorization bugs, friction points, or expressed frustration. Review these regularly to improve your FAQ knowledge bases.
